Ridgemont FFA honors members

The Ridgemont FFA recognized members for their many achievements at their annual banquet Sunday night. 
 
 
Members were recognized for many achievements this past year including Job Shadowing, Public Speaking, Ag Technology events, soil studies, the Fuel Up to Play 60 event, robotics, drone technology research, safety training events and numerous other activities that the chapter participates in annually.
 
Among chapter highlights, top scholars in each class were, Alexis Elliott-Freshman, Taylor Cronley-Sophomore, Taylor Hardin-Junior, and Logan Hill was named Senior class top scholar. The Ag-Credit 110% Award went to Ryan Messner. Members Shaye Creamer and Nole Gerfin were named Star Chapter Greenhands, and members Cody McKee and Clay Gerfin were named Star Chapter Placement awards.
 
 
Ridgemont also recognized several members for their state proficiency awards. Clay Gerfen placed Top 4 in the state in Diversified Agriculture and Swine Placement. Nole Gerfen placed Top 4 in Diversified Livestock Production and Swine Entrepreneurship. Bailey Wagner placed Top 4 in Home & Community Development, Adam Wagner placed Top 4 in Agricultural Education and DaKota McKee placed Top 4 in Agricultural Services.
 
Ridgemont also recognizes members who go above and beyond in their time as FFA members by awarding them the Lauren Ledley Legacy Award in honor of a former member and longtime supporter of the Ridgemont FFA. This year’s winners were Adam Wagner and Adreonna Radcliffe.
 
 
Over three hundred people attended the Ridgemont FFA Banquet this year.

Kenton FFA Chapter recognizes member achievements

The Kenton FFA Chapter held their 81st annual banquet at the Kenton High School Saturday night.
 
 
The annual banquet is designed to recognize students’ achievements both in the classroom and outside of school. Students who participated in Soil Judging, Equine Judging, Tractor Troubleshooting, Farm Business and Management, Outdoor Power & Equipment, General Livestock Judging, Public Speaking and Job Interview contests as well as many other activities throughout the year.
 
Some members were recognized for specific achievements. The Star Greenhand, which is awarded to an outstanding Greenhand member, was awarded to Delaney Althauser. The Outstanding Sophomore Member was awarded to Jared McNeely. The Outstanding Junior Member award was presented to Hannah Heilman, and the Outstanding Senior Member was awarded to Katie Shoemaker.
 
Additionally, member Kameron Kaylor was awarded the Outstanding Ag Business Placement award. The Outstanding Agricultural Achievement Award was presented to member Bailey Pees, and member Kolt Buchenroth was presented with the Ag-Credit 110% Award.
 
 
The Kenton FFA also held a silent auction prior to the evening banquet to raise funds to support chapter activities.

Hardin Northern FFA hold annual banquet

A number of awards were handed out at the annual Hardin Northern FFA Chapter Banquet Thursday evening at Hardin Northern High School.
 
 
Star Greenhand, which is awarded to an outstanding Greenhand member, was presented to member Will Poling. Star Natural Resources, presented for outstanding work in the chapter natural resources programs and contests was awarded to Ashton Stevenson, who also was presented with the Star Ag Business award, for her work in class and in the chapter in the Ag Business programs.
 
Star Chapter and Distinguished Member Awards were presented to Rose Rall, given for her outstanding work over the past year leading the Hardin Northern FFA as its president and for her achievements in the class and chapter. Member Lukas Schroeder received the Ag Credit 110% Award, and the Senior Class Committee was recognized for its work over the past year.
 
The Hardin Northern FFA also awards a number of scholarships each year. Hardin Northern FFA Scholarships were presented to members Makenzie Shepherd, Lukas Schroeder and Rose Rall. The trio also was awarded the Lotz Family Scholarships and the Hardin Northern FFA Alumni Scholarships. Member Ree Ferkins was awarded the Jeb Bowman Memorial Scholarship and Ferkins and Lukas Schroeder were presented with the Alice Minter Memorial Scholarship.

Kenton FFA to hold annual banquet

The Kenton-OHP FFA Chapter would like to welcome all community members to attend the 81st annual FFA banquet on April 18th 2015 in the Kenton High School Gym. The meal will be catered by Special Occasions, we will be serving Marsala Steak Medallions, Glazed Ham & Pineapple, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Baked Apples, Buttered Corn, and assorted pies. Tickets are $10 and guests must RSVP prior to the even. Kenton FFA honors senior class

The 2015 Kenton-OHP FFA seniors from L Front: Angel Sheldon, Kaliegh Dunahue, Sydney Albert, Morgan Bloom, Payton Brooks, Katie Shoemaker, Jordan Vermillion, Austin Phillips, Bailey Pees, and Dakota Johnson.

 

The senior members of the Kenton-OHP FFA Chapter were recognized at the March meeting. As a way to thank the seniors, a “Survival Kit” was put together by members, with small gifts and treats to help get members through the rest of their senior year. Reporter, Kolt Buchenroth created a video for the seniors that was shown during the meeting as a way for the seniors to remember their FFA memories and thank their supporters. This senior slideshow will be shown again to recognize our seniors at our Annual FFA Banquet on Saturday, April 18th. After the meeting, cake and punch were served, parents and students were able to enjoy time celebrating and honoring our seniors.
