The Kenton Fire Department has recently added a medic unit to its fleet.
Engine 71 has been an Advanced Life Support equipped engine since 2015. This means that it carries all of the necessary equipment and medications to perform Advanced Life Support skills and manage patients in the field.
With the addition of this new medic unit, the Fire Department will now be able to transport patients as well as respond to EMS calls and treat patients all without waiting for another agency to respond.
According to a statement the department said that “The Kenton Fire Department is dedicated to providing the best service possible to the residents of the City of Kenton and surrounding townships and is working diligently to ensure that service is upheld.”
The fire department thanked the Kenton City Council and the city administration. They also thanked the Graphic Design and Printing Technology class at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center for lettering the new vehicle.
