The Coldwater Cavaliers picked up in 2015 where they left off in 2014.

 

The defending state champions put on an impressive display in Friday's season opener, scoring touchdowns on its first five possessions en route to a 42-0 win over the Kenton Wildcats at Cavalier Stadium.

 

Jack Hemmelgarn threw three touchdown passes for the Cavaliers, who outgained the Wildcats 398-150 for the game.

 

Trent Hites, who accounted for all of Kenton's yards via the run and the pass, was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.

 

The Wildcats return to the gridiron Friday when they host Defiance in their Western Buckeye League opener. The pregame show on WKTN will begin at 6:40 p.m., with the opening kickoff set for 7 p.m.
