Nine players scored for the Wapakoneta Redskins on Friday as they scored the game's first 11 points and never looked back on their way to a 61-47 win over Kenton in Western Buckeye League boys basketball play on Friday.

The Redskins (4-1 overall, 2-0 WBL) led 17-4 after one quarter and extended their lead to 32-17 at the break.


The Wildcats (1-5, 0-2) fought back in the second half and actually outscored the Redskins over the final 16 minutes but came up short.


Nate Schroer led Wapakoneta with 12 points.


Luke Nichols had 16 points and 4 rebounds to lead Kenton while Thomas Phillips added 13 points and Hunter Phillips score 10 points.


Nichols was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.
