Ohio laws affecting teenage drivers are set to change starting July 1.
WDTN in Dayton reported that drivers under 18 will not be allowed on the road between midnight and 6am without a parent or guardian. They will also not be allowed to have more than one non-family member in the car. All of their passengers are required to wear safety belts.
Existing law also bans Ohioans under 18 from using cellphones while they are behind the wheel.
The decision comes after the AAA Foundation For Traffic Safety released a report on a study about teen driver distractions.
