Smoke alarms will be installed in homes in Forest on Saturday April 22.

According to a release, the American Red Cross in partnership with the Forest Fire Department and the Forest Community Improvement Corporation, will be going door to door in the village to install smoke alarms in homes that need them and to teach people about what to do in case a fire breaks out in their home.  Volunteers will meet at the VFW Post 1182, 204 E. Lima Street in Forest at 9:00am April 22 for training and team assignments before starting door to door canvassing and installing.

Anyone interested in volunteering can call the Red Cross at 419-422-9322. In the North Central Ohio District, which includes Hardin County, the Red Cross has installed more than 1000 free smoke alarms.
