A Logan County group is moving toward its goal of eventually returning an animal shelter to Logan County, and are working on projects that will help control the animal population.

According to the Bellefontaine Examiner, Animal Haven, which formed after the closing of the Top of Ohio Pet Shelter due to financial reasons, met with Logan County Commissioners Dustin Wickersham and John Bayliss as well as Logan County Dog Warden Tim Klingelhofer on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the group’s progress.

The commissioners identified the Union County Humane Society as the best alternative to having a local shelter and signed a contract to accept local stray dogs.
