to Superintendent Jennifer Penczarski and building principals introduced their staffs.

 

Penczarski noted that the district was awarded several grants including the Wildcat Community Connectors Grant through the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance as well as the Final Round of 21st Century Grant. Penczarski also noted that the district report is available here.

 

The Superintendent announced that all 4th - 6th grade students have an elective course to work on STEM courses in engineering to prepare for 7th grade coursework in collaboration with Ohio Hi Point.

 

Under Personnel Items

The board accepted the resignation of Angela Miller, KMS fall and winter cheerleading coach and Rebecca Clyborn, bus driver, and Delores Kinnear, KES cook

In employee supplemental contracts, the board approved Kim Gerding, Karen Nease, Rhoda Deitsch, Christina Cross, Jessica Parsley for the design team.

Kimberly Beach was approved in non-employee contracts as the  KMS fall and winter cheerleading coach.

 

The board created two new positions. Two are 2.25 hour education aides for busses, and one is a 4 hour van driver.

Salary adjustments were made for Brooke Boznango and Dustin Clapsaddle.

 

The board approved the hiring of Dorothy Britton, Dakota Getz, Lindsay Payne, Jacob Eikenbary, Delores Kinnear, Shawn Smith, Dylan Hunsicker.

Gloria Mullins, Brittney Arnold, Logan Howard, Rebecca Clyborn, Teresa Kindell were approved as various substitutes within the district.

 

Under Authorizations and Resolutions, the board approved the interdistrict contract with Auglaize County ESC, a new fund for 6th grade camp, the shared teacher service agreement between Kenton City Schools and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center for Ryan Collins and Jared Manns, Cross Categorical (CC) shared services agreement with Ridgemont Local Schools, the contract with North Central Ohio ESC, the contract with the North Central Ohio ESC, the shared transportation service agreement with Hardin Northern Local Schools, the 8th grade trip to Washington DC, the bus contract with Ohio Hi-Point.

 

Finally, the board updated the 457 Plan with the Voya Company.

 

The next regular Board of Education meeting will be held on September 18, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
