There has been a sharp increase of vehicles being entered and items stolen from inside them during the month of September.

That number increased dramatically Tuesday when around a dozen complaints were received from residents regarding items stolen from their vehicles. In one case, a handgun, Ipad and dvd player were stolen.

In most cases, the vehicles are not being forcibly entered, but the owners have left the doors unlocked making it easy access to the vehicles.

Kenton Police Chief Dennis Musser is reminding residents to make sure you lock the doors and don't leave valuable items inside your vehicles.
