An Arlington man is facing a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a weekend crash in Wyandot County.
According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of County Highway 81 to investigate a report of a vehicle crashing into a house.
Following an investigation, it was determined a car being driven by 36 year old Benjamin A. Steinmetz was travelling north on 81 when he ran off the right side of the road. The car spun around, travelled through a yard and crashed into the residence. The car ended up almost completely inside the house and ended through the floor and partially in the basement.
Steinmetz was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment. No one in the house was injured.
The driver admitted to consuming several beers in a short time as well as smoking marijuana.
A small amount of marijuana was found inside the car, and in addition to OVI, Steinmetz is also facing a charge of possession of marijuana.
