Five people were injured in a three vehicle crash that occurred just after 11 Tuesday morning on State Route 309 at the west edge of Kenton.
According to the report from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, a car being driven by 56 year old John Thomas, of Kenton, was preparing to turn into a driveway from 309, and a vehicle behind him, which was driven by 34 year old Adam Smith, of Delphos, slowed down as well. A third vehicle operated by 20 year old Lucas McLane, of Lakeview, failed to slow in time and struck the rear of the Smith vehicle, pushing it into the Thomas car.
Smith was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. Thomas and three passengers in his car were all transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital.
McLane was not injured. He was cited for an assured clear distance ahead violation.
