A Kenton man was taken into custody following a brief standoff on New Year’s Day.

According to information from Kenton Police Chief Dennis Musser, officers were called to the 200 block of South Wayne Street where a man allegedly fired a gun while his girlfriend was inside the house.

Police were able to talk to the man over the phone and after about an hour, the suspect, identified as 57 year old David Wright,  came out of the house unarmed and was taken into custody. There were no injuries.
