Sheriff Keith Everhart and Chief Deputy Dennis Burns reported that text to 9-1-1 should be ready to go by the end of the year. They said there are some issues being worked on with autowave for EMS/Fire.
They also announced that between 11 to 15 people are enrolled in the Citizens Academy, which starts next week.
After four years, the Sheriff's Office is pulling a person out of the Kenton City Schools Truant Officer/School Resource position due to finances. The Kenton Police Department will be stepping into the Kenton City School position. It was noted the DARE program will continue to be offered.
