May is Fraud Awareness Month.
The Hardin County Commissioners heard at a recent meeting from John Folk, Jodi Tudor, Christine Wireman and Jessica Osborn from Job and Family Services.
It was reported that a $2,000 grant was received to assist with the month.
Osborn, a Fraud Investigator, had one case prosecuted last year with a high dollar amount and one this year that the client misled the workers and was dishonest.
It was also reported that an activity is scheduled with local law enforcement to learn how they can help identify fraud.
A luncheon will be held with a speaker from the state to educate on how to detect fraud as well.
The public may also call the agency with concerns.
Commissioner Beaman moved to adopt a Proclamation to designate May as Fraud Awareness Month, which was passed.
