The 2013 Kenton football season ended Friday night as the Wildcats fell to the Clinton Massie Falcons21-20 in the state semifinals at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.
Kenton ends the season at 13-1 while Clinton-Massie improves to 13-1.
Grant Sherman threw for 440 yards and 3 touchdowns for Kenton while Justin Sawmiller caught 8 passes for 178 yards. Colyn Blackfor had 9 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown while Luke Jackson finished with 2 touchdown grabs.
Clinton-Massie, which trailed 20-7 heading into the 4th quarter, got 182 yards and a touchdown on 32 attempts from Bayle Wolfe while Chayse Wolfe scored two touchdowns to go with his 123 yards on the ground.
The Falcons will take on Youngstown Cardinal Mooney in the state final game next week. They defeated Steubenville in their semifinal game 37-7.
