The Kenton Wildcats posted a thrilling homecoming win over Shawnee, edging the Indians 43-37 in Western Buckeye League play Friday at Robinson Field.
The two teams combined for 1,123 yards, and the game ended when the Indians were tackled at the Kenton 4-yard line as time expired.
KHS homecoming queen Haylee Bushong and her court saw Jaron Sharp throw for 464 yards and five touchdowns to pace the Wildcat attack. He also rushed for a score as the Cats improve to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in the WBL.
Jayden Cornell had 11 catches for 226 yards and three touchdowns while Hunter Moore caught 15 passes for 157 yards and a TD and Alex Stephens had three catches for 51 yards and the other Wildcat score.
The Indians slip to 3-4 overall and 2-4 in the league.
Moore was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.
The Wildcats host Ottawa-Glandorf on Friday. WKTN will carry the game live, with the pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
