The Kenton Wildcats defeated the River Valley Vikings last night on Senior Night. The cats lead the scoring throughout the game with it being 11-9 after one, 25-19 at the half, 43-36 after three, and win the game 61-46.

Kenton Coach Ryan Miller says it’s tough to lose this outgoing group of seniors.

“We’ve got five great girls on this basketball team. This is kind of a sentimental game and I couldn’t be prouder of my seniors and how they stepped up and finished their last game here at home.” Said Miller.

Ellie Miller, Kori Barrett, Haylee Bushong, Layne Taylor, and Tawnie Keen all played their last game on Kenton Hardwood last night.

Miller says it’s refreshing knowing he has a talented group of underclassmen.

“Caitlin Tudor being our lone junior, she’s in there on the boards she gives everything she has every single game. We’ve got a couple sophomores there, Hannah Holland, [Sidney] Plott, and Sid has been very instrumental in our success this year. We’ve got a couple really promising freshmen as well...” Miller continued.

The lady cats are back in action Tomorrow as they travel to Elida. Winning that game will give the Lady Cats a winning season in the Western Buckeye League. Then the cats will travel to Leipsic to play Wapakoneta in the sectional championship game.
