Twenty-nine wrestlers from the Kenton Youth Wrestling team competed in the Miami Valley League Championship Meet in Dayton, Ohio on Sunday, February 18th.  The team posted six champions, one runner-up, six third placers and  four fourth place finishers.
Anthony Hunt led the team with a 3-0 record on the day with 8 take downs, 1 near fall and 3 pins.  Wrestling in the 11 year old, 90 - 92 lb class, he defeated Tearra Robins of Beavercreek (:54), Conner Frame of Wapakoneta (1:40), and Brayden Koeller of Eaton (1:14) all by fall.
Tim Wilkinson, 11 year old 162.1 - 202.4 lbs weight class, posted wins over Smanatha McDaniel of Elida (:39), Jahnny Carnes of Wapakoneta (1:48), and Aiden Miller of Tecumseh (dec. 8-0).
Isaiah Mundy defeated Ethan Hallor of Miamisburg (Maj. 14-0), Jayce Ferrell of Graham (1:25), and Carson Lipps of Little Miami (dec. 6-0) to win the 8 year old 65.9 - 67.8 bracket.
Evan Elliott placed 1st in the 9 year old 80.7 - 82.9 lb weight group with wins over Phillip Curtis of Tecumseh (2:57), Kyler Chapman of Northwestern (dec. 10-3), and Garrett Hughes of Miami East (dec. 3-2).
Dailyn Ritchie started out with a scratch in the first round and then defeated Jaxson Wisby of Vandalia-Butler (dec. 5-3) and Brody Hamilton of Northwestern (dec. 9-3) to win the 6 year old, 58 - 60 lb weight class.
Karson Davis won the 11 year old, 80.4 - 81.7 lb weight class with a bye in the first round, a win of Jeremiah Bettison of Wayne (Maj. 9-0), and a win of Parker Guth of Elida in the finals (dec. 2-1).
Austin Root was the sole runner-up for Kenton.  Root wrestled in the 7 year old, 54 - 55.4 lb class.  He defeated Urijah Morgan of Eaton (2:41) and Henry Pachin of Kettering (dec. 10-9), but narrowly lost in the finals to Jackson Stacy of Xenia (10-12).
Third place finishers for Kenton were Isaac Blevins, Gavin Sealscott, Ronald Boyer, Robert Lawrence, Bob Wilkinson and Bill Wilkinson.
