Napoleon built an early lead and then held off a late Kenton charge to post a 54-44 victory in Divison 2 girls basketball district semifinal play.


Napoleon (16-8) held a 26-12 edge at intermission and led by as many as 15 points in the third quarter. Kenton (17-7) fought back, closing to within five points in the fourth period before Napoleon pulled away to advance to Saturday's district title tilt.


Taylor Strock led all players with 22 points for Napoleon.


Haylee Bushong had 13 points and four rebounds for Kenton while Kori Barrett added 11 ponts and seven rebounds. Ellie Miller and Layne Taylor scored nine points each.


Bushong was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.
