Services for Melvin L. Seabert Sr.will be held at 4:00 Friday, July 13, 2018 at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with his son Rev. William R. Seabert officiating. Burial will be held at a later date as it was his wishes to be cremated after his service. Friends may call from 2:00 until time of services on Friday.
He died at 2:45 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Birchaven Village in Findlay. He was born on June 18, 1924 in Kenton to the late Lloyd and Helen (Black)Seabert.
On September 27, 1942 he married Josephine Rizor and they later divorced. Then on May 03, 1975 he married Agnes Beltz and she preceded him in death on May 16, 2004.
Surviving are his sons, William (Janet) Seabert of Venus, TX, Rodney (Erna) Seabert of Kenton, Stanley (Roberta) Seabert of Forest, and Lyle (Peggy) Seabert of Lakeview; a daughter-in-law Penny Seabert of Kenton; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and1 great great granddaughter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Melvin Seabert Jr. and Dennis Seabert; 2 grandchildren, Mindy Seabert and Douglas Seabert; a brother Albert Seabert and a sister, Elythia Koch.
Melvin worked at Kenton Hardware as a molder and 30 years at Rockwell retiring in 1982.
He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII for 3 years, 29 months of that time he served over seas in Italy and Africa.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Helen Mabrey Shoe Fund or the Class of 1965 Scholarship Fund.
