James D. (Jim) Lease

James D. "Jim" "JD" Lease age 57 of Kenton passed away at 4:12 a.m. on
Wednesday April 18, 2018 at the Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on
May 20, 1960 in Kenton the son of the late James and Billie Lee (Conover)
Lease Jr. He was married to Cindy St. Clair for several years and they
divorced.
 
He is survived by his children Beth (Jason) Palka of Pittsburgh, PA and
Cody Lease (Tony Drummer) of Atlanta, GA; step son Jeremiah (Bonnie)
Johnson of Bertha, MN;
5 grandchildren; and his brother Allen Lease of Sidney, OH. Jim was
preceded in death by his sister in law Vicky Lease.
 
JD was a graduate of the Kenton High School Class of 1978 and attended the
University of Northwestern Ohio for 2 years. He was a self employed
welder, machinist, and fabricator. Jim repaired and built race cars in
his shop.
 
He was a lifelong Racing and Motorsports enthusiast. JD ran countless
laps around the track during his career in his #44 racecar. He had
attended church in Rushsylvania in the past.
 
Funeral services for Jim "JD" Lease will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday
April 20, 2018 at the Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home with Pastor
Jason Manns officiating. Burial will follow the service in Grove
Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 - 1:00 Friday April 20,
2018 prior to the service.

Mary Lou Amweg

Mary Lou Amweg age 84 of Forest, Ohio passed away at 11:29 p.m. on Friday
April 13, 2018 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was
born in Hardin County on November 3, 1933 the daughter of the late Roy
Linley and Dorothy O. (Liming) Daniels. She married Myron Amweg and he
passed away on July 17, 2008.
 
She is survived by 2 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son
Calvin Cummings Jr.
 
Mary Lou worked with her husband Myron at Amwegs Towing and Auto Body Shop
and she was a homemaker.
 
In following Mary Lou's wishes she will be cremated and there will be no
services held. Her ashes will be privately interred in Grove Cemetery at
a later date. Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home, Kenton is assisting
with arrangements.
 
Contributions in memory of Mary Lou may be made to a charity of the donors

Betty L. Richardson

Graveside services for Betty L. Richardson will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Committal Building in Grove Cemetery.
 
She died at 7:30 pm on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Kenton Nursing & Rehab. She was born on April 20, 1931 in Springfield to the late John Henry and Helen (Walke) Kimbrell Sr. She married Earl "Bo" Richardson and he preceded her in death.
 
Surviving are 2 daughters, Lisa (Paul) Sager of Marion and Vicki (George) Collins of Kenton; 1 son, Erny (Lynn) Richardson of Columbus; 7 grandchildren, Christopher Richardson, Jimmy Richardson, Tom Richardson, Carrie Preston, Jodi Ledley, Daniel Sager, and Nathan Sager; several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary Cozad and Mildred Richardson; and 1 brother, John Kimbrell Jr.
 
Betty loved cooking for her family, taking care of her house, and drawing.

Karla J. Bailey

She died at 4:42 pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. She was born on November 25, 1938 in Utica, Ohio. The daughter of the late Dwight and Phyllis (McKey) Litzenberg. On January 18, 1959 she married Henry "Hank" Bailey and he survives in Dunkirk.
 
Also surviving are her children, Dwight Oglesbee of Dayton and Leslie Craig of Kenton;  grandchildren, Nicole Oglesbee of Dayton, Jenelle Oglesbee of Kenton, Ryan Craig of Kenton, and Joseph Craig of Lima, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. As well as 2 brothers, Paul Gregg Jenkins Sr. of Florida and John Michael Shupe of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 
She was preceded in death by a son Douglas Bailey.
 
She owned and operated the former Karla's Kitchen in Dunkirk and later worked at K-Mart.
 
Karla was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star, where she was a Worthy Matron 13 times. She loved to bake pies, quilting, and her flowers.

A celebration of life service for Kenneth R. Altvater will be held at 7:00 Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, with Pastor Jason Manns officiating.

He died at 9:34 am on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 13,1953 in Upper Sandusky to the late Robert and Viola B. (Guthrie) Altvater. On January 13, 1981 he married Cory Lawrence and she survives in Forest.
Also surviving are 3 daughters, Brandy Roberts of Upper Sandusky, Jessica (Juan) Romero of Forest, and Jamie Altvater of Forest; 2 sons, Jeremy Roberts of Forest and Josh (Brittany) Altvater of Forest; 10 grandchildren, Mikia, Jacob, JR, Dana, Cameron, Adrian, Tyrelle, Ta'Mijah, Ta'Zayah, and Juniper, a special granddaughter Amaya, and 2 great grandchildren, Riley and Lincoln. As well as 1 sister, Cynthia Gay of Forest, 1 brother, Tim (Susan) Altvater of Kenton; and special friends, Londa Roberts and Jeanette Vaughters.
He was preceded in death by a brother Rick Altvater.
Ken was an Engineer at Continental Hose for 35 years.
He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed computers, being outdoors, and camping.

Helen Fout

Helen L. Fout age 90 of Forest, died on Saturday April 14, 2018 at 1:55am.  She was born May 8, 1927 in Forest to Robert V. and Golda M. (Fewell) Spencer.  She married Burton Snider and he preceded her in death on 1974.  Helen married Allen E. “Gene” Fout on January 5, 1957 and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2005.

 

Mrs. Fout is survived by a daughter Diana Sellars-Harman of Findlay, her children Mike McGarvey, Terri (Mark) Collins, Chris (Randy) Waugh, Carol (Sean) Brauneller, son Larry (Barb) Snider of Arlington, his son Jeff Snider, son Robert (Dixie) Fout of Lancaster, his children Michael (Tracy) Fout, John (Lindsey) Fout, James (Erin) Fout, son William (Vicki) Fout of Forest, his children Jacob (Dannie) Fout, Shelby and her fiance Travis, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents a brother William Spencer and a sister Mary Barbara Stewart.

 

Mrs. Fout was a member of Forest United Methodist Church.  She retired from REA in Kenton as an accountant, where she had worked for over 25 years.  Mrs. Fout enjoyed antiques and antique furniture, glass wear, traveling, flower gardening and cooking. Helen especially enjoyed her grandchildren as babies and watching them grow.  She was an active person, always giving of her time and helping others.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sat. April 21, 2018 at 10:30 AM in the Clark Shields Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hueston Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Fri. April 20, 2018 from 3-7 PM at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Forest Jackson Library in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Bernard E. Williams

Private graveside services for Bernard E. Williams will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Otterbein Cemetery, with Pastor Cal Waugh officiating.
 
He died at 7:40 am Friday, April 13, 2018 at Kenton Nursing & Rehab. He was born on June 17, 1921 in Hardin County to the late Samuel and Ida (Seiler) Williams. On April 21, 1946 he married Virginia Kelly and she survives in Kenton.
 
Surviving are 2 sons, Douglas (Jane Baker) Williams of Kenton and Terry (Peggy) Williams of Kenton; 3 grandsons, Brian Williams, Eric Williams, and Jason (Tammy) Williams; and 2 great grandsons, Blaize and Ace Williams.
He was preceded in death by a sister Vivian Harvey.
 
Bernard was a farmer and was inducted into the Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame. He graduated from Mt. Victory High School with the class of 1938.
 
He was a Veteran of WWII serving with the 7th Airdrome Squadron for 39 months with 30 months spent in the South Pacific, New Guinea, and Guadalcanal. His military occupation was airplane armorer. 
 
He was a member of Otterbein Church, Painter Creek Grange, and a former member of the Ridgemont School Board. He was chairman of Ohio State Rural Electric from 1988-1990 and also served as a trustee for United Rural Electric.

Charles M. "Charlie" Davis

Services for Charles M. "Charlie" Davis will be held at 1:00 Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at Wolfcreek Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 until time of services on Tuesday.
He died at 12:28 am Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 16, 1945 in Kenton to the late Glen D. and Flora E. (Bacigulpo) Davis. On June 07, 1964 he married Allita Berry and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a grandson Kristofer A. Davis of Kenton; a granddaughter, Katrina Davis (Mikala) Rostorfer of Kenton; 2 great grandsons, Kindell and Jockton; a brother Ray E. Davis of Kenton, 2 brother-in-laws, John (Sandy) Berry of Kenton, and David Berry of Tulsa, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a infant daughter, son, Stephen C. Davis, an infant sister, Cecilia Davis, sister-in-law, Bonnie Berry-Sams, and a brother-in-law, James Berry.
Charlie worked at Wilco for 10 years and retired from Rockwell, Arvin Meritor after 30 years. After retirement he worked ground and drove semi for Billenstein Farm Drainage. 
He was a 1963 graduate of Kenton High School. A member of the Kenton Lions Club and the Rushcreek Sportsman Club for many years. He also was a former 4-H adviser for many years.
He dearly loved anything to do with farm work. Charlie was a hard working and multi talented man building and fixing things.

She was born on September 08, 1929 in Auxier, KY to the late Elzie and Angie (Leffler) Webb. On January 19, 1947 she married Robert D. Lawrence and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2000.
 
Surviving are 1 daughter, Kathy Vermillion of Kenton; 2 sons, Mike (Cathy) Lawrence of Kenton, and Robert (Deb) Lawrence of Marion; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Jenny Osborne, Cynthia Greathouse, Roberta Jett, and Cora Greathouse; and 4 brothers, Roger Webb, Dave Webb, Frankie Webb, and Jim Webb. She was preceded in death by a son Ralph E. Lawrence, a daughter Angela Burd, grandson, Christopher Lawrence, great grandson, Drew Helton, 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
 
Martha was a laundry supervisor at the former Corinthian Nursing Home. Her biggest passion was taking care of her family.

Jerry H. Corwin

Jerry H. Corwin passed away surrounded by family at 6:50 pm on April 08, 2018 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.

He was born on July 30, 1948 in Forest, Ohio to the late Raymond Edward and Margaret Lucille (Jenkins) Corwin. On December 30, 1968 he married Cynthia S. Reisinger and she survives in West Mansfield.

Also surviving are 2 sons, Jerry D. (Michelle) Corwin of Lakeview, and Jeffrey A. (Andrea) Corwin of Bellefontaine; 9 grandchildren, Josie Sue Marie Corwin, Joseph Daniel Corwin, Amanda Green, Erin Fleming, Nicholas Fleming, Hayes Elizabeth Corwin, Philip Jeffrey Corwin, Grace Elaine Corwin, and Eli Allen Corwin; and 5 great-grandchildren. Along with 4 brothers, Jim (Chris) Corwin of Moab, Utah, Jack (Barb) Corwin of West Mansfield, John Corwin of Bellefontaine, and Bill (Sonja) Corwin of Lafollette, TN,; 2 sisters, Joan Pacey of Forest and Lisa Reed of Summerville, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 sister-in-laws, Ann Corwin and Beverly Corwin; and 1 brother-in-law Larry Pacey.

Jerry was a Deputy with the Hardin County Sheriff Office, retiring after 17 years. He was also a member of the Hardin County Sheriff Office Mounted Posse for 15 years.

An Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War; he became a member of the VFW Post 1080 in Bellefontaine, where he was the Commander and also a member of the Honor Guard Detail. Jerry was a member of the American Legion in Bellefontaine. He was also a volunteer for Vets to DC.
 
He was the proprietor of C & J Pizza in Quincy for 10 years. He was also a former President of the Rushsylvania Rough Riders, and a former baseball coach.
Jerry was a farmer who raised cattle and quarter horses for a number of years. He also loved to watch his grandchildren in all their activities.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. The funeral will be held at 1:00 Saturday, April 14, 2018 with Pastor Terry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Hale Cemetery in Mt. Victory, with military graveside rites by the VFW - American Legion Honor Guard of Bellefontaine, and the Casualty Assistance of Fort Knox Honor Guard.
 
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the VFW Post 1080 Scholarship Fund.

Marianna Elsasser

Marianna Elsasser, age 72 of Kenton passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday April

9, 2018 at her residence. She was born on December 14, 1945 in Hardin

County the daughter of the late William and Jeanne (Axline) Ralston. On

December 5, 1965 Marianna married Chris E. Elsasser and he passed away on

October 3, 2003.

 

She is survived by her children Stephen Elsasser of Kenton and Tracey

(Bill) Howard of Kenton; grandchildren Mike Elsasser of Kenton, Justin

Ropp of Urbana, Will Howard of Kenton, and Matthew Howard of Kenton;

brother William "Bill" (Angie) Ralston of Roundhead; and sisters Marjorie

Gilley of Florida, Margaret (Dennis) Davis of West Virginia, and Charlene

White of Lima. Marianna was preceded in death by her brother David

Ralston.

 

Marianna was a graduate of the Kenton High School class of 1963. During

her lifetime she worked as a beautician and was a homemaker. She was a

member of the Kenton Epworth United Methodist Church; the Ridgemont Music

Boosters; and the Kenton Ladies of the Moose Lodge #428. She was active

in the Kenton TOPS group. Marianna was known by some people as the cookie

lady and the pie lady at the Moose.

 

Visitation for Marianna Elsasser will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Thursday April 12, 2018 at the Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home.

Following Marianna's wishes her body will then be cremated and a private

family service will be held at a later date.

> He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Sue Harvey of Kenton and several aunts and uncles.

> He retired in 2005 from the United Association Local #776 Plumbers and Pipefitters of Lima, Ohio.
> Mike was a veteran of the US Air Force serving 2 tours of duty during the Vietnam War.
> He was a member of Masonic Lodge #378 in Forest, the Hardin County Shriners, the Aladdin Shrine Temple of Columbus, Kenton Elks Lodge #157, Kenton Eagles Lodge #2163, Amvets Post 1994, and a Board Member of the Memorial Park Golf Course.

> Mike enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, gardening, and canning the vegetables he grew each year.   He was an ultra light plane enthusiast, a master welder, and was also Kenton’s Memorial Day Parade Marshall for more than 10 years.

Jesse D. Kalb

Jesse D Kalb of Wharton OH passed away unexpectedly on Sunday April 1,2018 at his home. He was born on January 10, 1956 to the late Ioma E (Dean) Kalb who preceded him in death in 1988 and James (Barb) Kalb of Forest,OH.
    Surviving are his children Emma (Neal) Fout of Kenton ; Jeremy (Karie) Kalb of Forest ; April (Dwight) Tanner of Carey; Nikki Barnett (Marcus Levering) of Marsellies ; Jessi Lee Kalb of Ridgeway; and Ty Kalb of Dunkirk.  11 grandchildren; Nathan and Keaton Fout, Jaylin and Lily Kalb, JR and Dana Roberts, Taylor Woodruff, Reese Levering, Troy Cameron, and Addyson and Kashley Ansley.  A brother Herbie Kalb of Wharton, step sisters Peble Click of Kenton, Donna Ratliff of Forest. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.  A lifetime long friend that he loves as a son Lil Joe Fabo.  Also preceding him in death are a brother James Kalb and step brother Charlie Click.
    Jesse attended Riverdale High School but graduated from Kenton High School in 1974.
     Jesse spent his career as a Welder from welding train cars at International Car, to Army tanks at General Dynamics, to axles at Rockwell, but he retired his welding career welding Army tanks at General Dynamics.
      He was a man that loved his sports from being a avid Cleveland Browns,Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.  He enjoyed watching his grandkids play the sports he loved.  In his younger days he enjoyed playing softball with his family and friends.  Jesse also had a love for hunting where he spent countless nights out in the woods with his coon dogs, he also enjoyed when he could talk his children to join him.  What he loved the most were his children and grandchildren which he couldn't of been any prouder of each and every one of them.
  Jesse will truly be remembered for his wild stories he would try his hardest to get you to believe and the giggle that followed when he knew that people believed them.  His orneriness and his aggravating practical joke playing will definitely will be missed by all,  as well as the great man he was.
   A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday April 7 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church in Forest with Pastor James Robinette officiating.  Private burial will be held at a later date in Wyandot Jackson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am Saturday until the time of the service.  The family ask for casual attire and to join them after the services to continue celebrating the life of Jesse at the Kenton Eagles.  Donations can be made to the family or to the Kenton Eagles Women's Aux to help with the celebration of life. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio, 1701 Marion Williamsport Rd. Ethel J. Willison

Ethel J. Willison, age 57 of Kenton passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at the Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 12, 1960 in Kenton, Ohio the daughter of the late Donald Lee and Mary (Buckler) Willison. She was never married. Ethel is survived by her siblings Russell Willison of Kenton, Larry Willison of Kenton, Carl (Tonya) Willison of Colorado, Scott Willison of Kenton, Donald, Willison of California, Karen Fowler of Columbus, OH, Gayle (David) Heywood of North Carolina, and Charlene (Greg) Ramey of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion Glen "Sweetie" Robinson, her brothers Paul, Jerry, and Herbert Willison and sisters Lynn Carlstrom and Lynn Cornish. She was retired from HARCO Industries in Kenton and previously did cleaning at the Kenton Theatre 3. Ethel liked to watch movies and WWE Wrestling. She enjoyed the Hardin County Fair and visits to Walmart. Funeral services for Ethel J. Willison will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday April 5, 2018 at the Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hess officiating. Jerrod I. Clark

There will be no services for Jerrod I. Clark, it was his wishes to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died at 12:45 A.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born on February 24, 1975 in Marion, Ohio to Joseph Whalen and Teresa Hartman and they both survive.

She died at 12:15 am Friday, March 30, 2018 at The Heritage in Findlay. She was born on January 14, 1920 in Maypearl, TX to the late George and Alice (Radican) Walters. In 1942 she met the love of her life and married him, Leroy Boger, on February 19, 1945. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2004.
 
Surviving are daughter, Pam Loveridge of Findlay; daughter-in-law Linda Boger of Lima; 5 grandchildren, Dennis (Addie) Loveridge, Bridget (David) Lepley, Aric (Aubrey) Loveridge, Shane (Jennifer) Boger, and Joshua (Kristie) Boger; and 17 great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by a son Donald Boger, son-in-law Jim Loveridge, 4 sisters and 6 brothers.
 
She was a homemaker and had worked at the old Hardin County Library for 11 years.
Alta was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Garden Club.
She loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, crafting, baking, camping, and traveling.

Betty A. (Yeater) Scharf  age 89, Paoli, IN formerly of Upper Sandusky, died at Stonebridge Health Campus, Bedford, IN on Tues. Mar. 27, 2018.

 

She was born Mar. 31, 1928 in Upper Sandusky to the late Peter and Edna (Lear) Mott.

 

She married Harry Yeater, he preceded her in death in1980, she then married Lauren Scharf, he died in 2007.

 

Surviving is a daughter Beverly (Joe) Collins, Paoli, IN, grandchildren Daniel Smith, Sandi Folkerts, David Smith,  5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 7 step-children. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter.

 

She was a member of Paoli Church of Christ, Paoli, IN

 

She had worked at the former Westinghouse and A.O. Smith, retiring in 1988. She was also a licensed beautician.

 

A graveside service will be held on Tues. Apr. 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Old Mission Cemetery with Pastor Jed Brake officiating. Visitation is from 9:30-10:30 on Tues. Apr. 3, 2018 at Bringman Clark Funeral Home.

Visitation for Lindberg "Bud" Stephens will be from 1:00 to 6:00 Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will be at a later date as it was his wishes to be cremated.
He died at 8:00am Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Ritas Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1929 in Mid, Kentucky to the late William and Fanny (Bailey) Stephens. On December 14, 1999 he married Sondra Cosart and she survives in Kenton. 
 
Also surviving are 4 daughters, Faye Lawrence of Kenton, Carol (David) Close of McDonough GA, Holly (John Gibson) Risner of Ada, and Ashley (Jeff) Hall of Forest, 2 sons Roger (Beth) Stephens of Kenton and Joel Stephens of Kenton, 3 sisters, Mildred Hare of Kenton, Lucille Fout of Kenton, and Angie (Dick) Tracy of Kenton, 1 brother, Mike (Jackie) Stephens of Kenton, 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. 
 
He was preceded in death by 2 daughters; Paula Roseann and Marie Irene Stephens, 1 son; Thomas Eugene Stephens, 5 brothers; Mark, Ollie, Curtis, Hayward, and William Clark Stephens, 2 sisters; Geneva Hedrick and Jeanne Sorrels. 
Bud worked for the Railroad and then worked at Rockwell for 60 years. 
Work and family was a big part of his life. He loved to tinker and his favorite phrase was "Be smarter than the machine you are working with".

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Lucille and Jim Holland, sister, Cheryl Lock, and 2 brothers,  Frank Holland, James Brown, and Terry Nichols.
 
Deb was a member of the Only Believe Ministries and volunteered at Helping Hands. Helping others was one of her passions.
She enjoyed gospel music, was an animal lover, and had rescued numerous animals from a chicken to squirrels to dogs and cats.

He died at 11:31 pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born November 10, 1940 in Hardin Co to the late Burton and Thelma (Smith) Gibbs. On July 27, 1968 he married Diane Patch and she survives in Kenton. 
 
Also surviving are 2 brothers Stan (Peggy) Gibbs of Bellefontaine and David Gibbs of Kenton. 

He was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Gibbs. 
 
Dick worked at Whirlpool for 33yrs and was a veteran of the U.S. Air force. 
He loved to bowl and loved his dog Bubba and cat Megan "fat cat".

Nancy E. Althauser

Nancy E. Althauser, age 74 of Kenton, passed away at 9:23 a.m. on Wednesday
March 21, 2018 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital.  She was born December 26,
1943 in Boulder, Colorado the daughter of the late John C. and Dorothy M.
(Hay) Fullerton.  On June 18, 1965 she married Gerald "Jerry" Althauser
and he survives.

Nancy is survived by her children Joel Althauser of Kenton, Craig (Amy)
Althauser of Holton, Kansas, Shawn Althauser of Ostrander, and Tara (Ryan)
Collins of Kenton; grandchildren Jackson Althauser, Delaney Althauser,
Riley Althauser, Sydney Althauser, Grace Collins, and Caylee Althauser;
and a brother David(Elia) Fullerton of Golden, CO.  She was preceded in
death by her son Kyle Althauser August 9, 1998.

She was a graduate of the Kenton High School class of 1961 and received
her B.S. Degree in Education from The Ohio State University in 1965.
Nancy was a homemaker, was a retired substitute teacher at the Kenton City
Schools and Simon Kenton School, and was the co-owner of Althausers' Family
Farm and Pumpkin Patch with her husband Jerry.

Nancy was a 7th degree member of the Goshen Grange and a past County
Grange Deputy Master.  She was a member of the TLC Mothers' Club and
University Club 2.  Nancy loved going to Florida where it was warm;
enjoyed making beeswax candles and selling them at craft shows and fairs;
she valued time spent with her grandchildren; and never passed up the
opportunity to go camping.

A Memorial Service for Nancy E. Althauser will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Monday March 26, 2018 at the Kenton First United Methodist Church with
Pastor Jonathan Hanover officiating.  All are invited to share memories
and stories about Nancy following the service at the luncheon which will
be served at the church by the Goshen Grange.  The family will hold a
private committal service at Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy's wishes would be for donations to be made to
HARCO Industries for the benefit of KudoStudio; Dollars for Scholars;
and/or the donor's favorite charity.

Donna R. Clapsaddle

Donna R. Clapsaddle, 95 of Kenton, passed away at 4:32 p.m. on Monday,
March 19, 2018 at her daughter's residence.  She was born in Marion, Ohio
on August 21, 1922 to the late Francis and Verna (Baker) Toombs.  Donna
married Dallas Clapsaddle on August 25, 1940 and he preceded her in death
on February 22, 1999.

Donna is survived by her children Dallas (Marian) Clapsaddle Sr. of
Jacksonville, FL, Skyler (Vicki) Clapsaddle of Kenton and Sandra Dunahue
of Kenton; grandchildren Heather (Jeremy) Buck of Kenton, Marijane Soja of
Jacksonville, FL, Steve (Crystal) Dunahue of Kenton, Rick (Renee) Dunahue
of Kenton, Christopher Clapsaddle of Kenton, Dallas Clapsaddle Jr. of
Jacksonville, FL, and Mike (Dawn) Clapsaddle of Jacksonville; great
grandchildren Tessa Dunahue of Kenton, Cora Buck of Kenton, Kristin Soja
of Jacksonville, FL, Samantha Clapsaddle of Jacksonville, FL, Seth Dunahue
of Kenton, Curtis Soja of Jacksonville, FL, and Bradley Clapsaddle of

Yvonne Clapsaddle; and a special young man Chaz Ward.

She was a graduate of the Marion Harding High School class of 1939.  Donna
worked as a Secretary for Tri County Limestone Co. and was a Clerk at
Kenton Surplus.

Donna previously attended the Bridgeport Church and was a current member
of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Kenton.  She enjoyed playing
cards, cooking, knitting, and crocheting.  Donna loved her family very
much.

A Memorial Service for Donna R. Clapsaddle will be held at 12:00 noon
Friday March 23, 2018 at the Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home, Kenton
with Pastor Steve Walter officiating.  The family will receive friends from
10:00 - 12:00 noon Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Sherry (Richie) Magann of Kenton and Laura (Howard) Gettings of Kenton; 8 grandchildren, Tavia (Todd) Miller of Kenton, Tiara (Kyle) Anspach of Kenton, Ray Legge of Kenton, Alicia (Jake) Jones of Forest, Stephanie Hastings of Forest, Jenna Hackney of Mt. Victory, Kathrine (Cody) Tuttle of New Carlisle, and Charles Napier Jr of Bucyrus; 9 great grandchildren, Tatum and Taryn Miller, Kylyne and Kole Anspach, Ariel, Carson, and Allie Mae Osborne, Able Tuttle, and Braidyn Van Meter. Also surviving are 3 sisters, June Huber of Thornville, Shirley Slusser of Urbana, and Debbie (Bill) Lefever of Bradenton, FL; and 3 brothers, Doug (Mary) Tomblin of Marysville, Ron (Sharon) Tomblin of Urbana and Jeff Tomblin of Urbana.
 
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Hackney, daughter, Shelly Hastings, grandsons, Brandon Castle, Chance Lykins, great grandson, Brysen Van Meter, and 6 brothers, Jim, Richard, Burch, Ernest, Chet, and Michael Tomblin.
 
She was a waitress at Thomas Family Tavern and a former member of the Kenton Women of the Moose and Amvets Ladies Auxiliary 1994.
 
Jean loved being around family and cooking for them, especially at holiday gatherings. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee with friends and family.

Pearl Fitzpatrick

Pearl Fitzpatrick age 80 of Kenton passed away at 10:05 a.m. on Friday
March 16, 2018 at the Lima Memorial Hospital.  She was born on November 6,
1937 in Mousie, KY the daughter of the late Lonzo and Martha (Conley)
Conley.  On February 2, 1961 she married Jack Fitzpatrick and he preceded
her in death on April 4, 2012.

She is survived by her son James "Jim" Fitzpatrick of Columbus along with
her sisters Genny (Mike) Simpson of Kenton and Delores Castle of Foraker.
Pearl was preceded in death by her brothers Dennis Conley and Harless "Boo"
Conley.

Pearl was a graduate of the McGuffey High School class of 1956.  She was a
homemaker.

The family of Pearl Fitzpatrick will hold a Celebration of Life service at
a later date.  Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home assisted the family
with arrangements.

Larry Eugene Rall

Larry passed away on Thursday March 15, 2018 at 8:25AM in Marion General Hospital. He was born in Hardin Co. on August 25, 1941 to the late Joseph Ralph Sr. and Arlene Helen (Breidenbach) Rall. On August 10, 1963 he married Janice Kay Long in the St. Johns Evangelical Church and she survives in Kenton. 
Also surviving are sons Parry Joseph (Kasey), Vaughn Ryan (Susan), daughter Jalene Lynry (Neal R Jr.) Duffman; grandchildren Tyler Joseph (Hailea) Rall, Isabelle Rose (Eddy) Scott, Jonathon Dillon Rall, Grace Katherine Rall; sister Karen Black, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. 
He was preceded in death by grandson Neal Richard Duffman III on July 1, 2015 and brother Joseph LaVern Rall Jr. 
Larry was a 1960 graduate Kenton High School and spent a lifetime in dairy and grain production.
He currently was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Church, Director-member of the Hardin County Dairy service unit, Kenton Wildcat Athletic Boosters, Kenton Moose Lodge 428, Hardin County Agricultural Society and a lifetime member of the Purebred Dairy Cattle Association. 
He had previous memberships in the National and State Ayrshire and Brown Swiss Associations, as Ralls Cloverleaf Lane. He exhibited in County, State and National registered dairy cattle breed shows and participated in National and State registered dairy cattle breed sales. 
In 1986 he received the Kenton FFA chapter Honorary Degree. In the past he was a 7th degree member of Goshen Grange, a member of the Kenton Elks Lodge #157, Kenton Jaycees, King Pin Bowling League, Moorman's Liam and Hardin County Restorers and Collectors. 
He loved to attend and observe his children and grandchildren's extracurricular activities and travel to Springboro Ohio to see the musical performances at La Comedia Dinner Theatre. He enjoyed Kenton Wildcat football, OSU football and basketball and watching cable T.V. 
He will be well remembered by family and friends, the comradery of card playing, attending auctions and riding and napping on his scooter at he Hardin County Fair.

Betty Jean Kettle

Betty Jean Kettle's full and vibrant life ended Tuesday March 13, 2018 at
the Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She entered life on May 8,
1922, in Kenton, OH.  She went through Kenton schools and later attended
Stephens College and DePauw University.  In 1944 she married Jack, her
long time beau.  They had one son, John.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lora Root, her
husband Jack and their son John; her brother, Willard Root (and his wife
Wege);  and her sister, Barbara Smith (and husband Phil). 

Family was everything to Betty, and she left a legacy of love to many.
They include her daughter-in-law, Margaret Kettle of Carmel, Indiana;  her
granddaughters: Jennifer (Tim) Gossett of Westfield, Indiana and Rebecca
(Jose) Martinez of Scottsdale, Arizona.  She was great grandmother "Momo"
to Caleb (Tessa) Gossett, and Jonathan Gossett and Aidan and Cruz
Martinez.  In later years her best friend and buddy was her sweet Bichon
dog, "Gigi".  
 
Betty was previously a member of Fortnightly Literary Club, Kenton Civic
League, Hardin Memorial Hospital Guild, and St. John's Evangelical Church.
 She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Glen Van Atta, Sr. and Dr.Leonard
Smith.

To the many caregivers who helped Betty at various times, know that your
kindness and dedication was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
They include Sharon Menard, Toni Hanneman, Chris Newland, Deb Tillman and
other staff at Kenton Nursing and Rehab, the Blanchard House, along with
Dr. Kate Johnson and Dr. Judy Hruschka.

A celebration of life service for Betty Jean Kettle will be held at 11:00
a.m. in the St. John’s Evangelical Church Chapel on Tuesday March 20, 2018
with Rev. Dr. Randall J. Forester officiating.   The family will receive
friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Grove Cemetery
following the memorial service.  Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home

Brian passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 as a result of an automobile accident. 
He was born March 18, 1983 in Kenton to Donald Ansley and Bonnie (Weaver) Vermillion. His father Donald survives in Ridgeway and his mother and step-father Bonnie (Don) Vermillion survive in rural Forest. 
 
Also surviving are three children Troy Cameron, Addyson and Kashley Ansley and the mother of his children Jessi Kalb, all of Ridgeway. A sister Robin (Jimmie) Bailey of Belle Center; step-brother Damon (Steph) Vermillion of Maryland; step-sister Carla (Tom Shifflet) Ross of Upper Sandusky;  grandmother Helen (McGee) Ansley of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William R. Ansley and Homer and Clarabelle Weaver, cousins Krista (Ansley) McDonald, Joel Draper and uncles Dennis Keith Ansley and Jack Acton. 
 
Brain was a 2001 graduate of Ridgemont High School being active in FFA, with a state degree, and Industrial arts. He restored a 1947 H Farmall for a class project, He was a graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio, Lima, majoring in High Performance Automotive. He was the owner of Ansley's Engines and a member of the Cummin' Atcha Pulling team. He modified his ever popular school bus flatbed trailer to haul his tug truck. 
As a child Brian tagged along with his grandpa Ansley to learn some of his electrical skills. At moms he would sneak tools to the garage to modify his dirt bike. When his dad commented that he was tired of blue trucks Brian and his sister Robin gave dad's truck a new paint job with used oil. Dad was not happy.
 
He started his working career at Crates Farms and Excavating and on to International Paper, Advanced Auto, Napa in Marion, store manager at Napa in Kenton, Land Tech in Kenton and MIG in Bellefontaine.
Brian's pleasures included his children occasionally helping and observing with him in his shop. Jessi and Troy enjoying tugging with him, and all his friends that he gave advice to or shared his open door policy to his home shop to use or just hang out. Customers that he tried his best to accommodate when needed. He was quick - witted but his children also kept him on his toes as they also learned that trait.

Charles "Ox" Carson

Charles “Ox” Carson, 69, of Belle Center, passed away Thursday, March 8 at
home surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with Leukemia.

He was born June 24, 1948 in Kenton to the late Carl and Eva (Dughman)
Carson. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Shadley) Carson, daughters,
Kari (David) DeLano of Ayersville, Kae Lynn (T.J.) Lyden of Belle Center,
and a step-son, Eric (Lindsay) Oldham of Kenton, mother-in-law, Dorothy
Shadley.

He was the proud grandfather to Luke and Abe DeLano, Carson and Carter
Lyden, and Olivia Oldham. Also surviving are his loving and supportive
siblings, Carl (Sonny) Carson, of Grayson, KY, John (Diane) Carson of
Kenton, a sister-in-law, Anita Carson of Mayberry, Peg (Bob) Cronley, of
Hilliard, Jean, (Joe) Kearns of Kenton, Robert “Kit” (Linda) Carson of
Kenton, Kathy Beair, of Lakeview, and Richard “Dick” (Bev) Carson also of
Kenton, sister-in-law, Gloria (Gary) Grappy of Kenton, and brother-in-law,
Kim (Kate) Shadley of Peoria, IL

Proceeding him in death are his wife, Peggy (Schmidt) Carson, a brother,
Edward Carson, and his father-in-law, Willis Shadley.

He loved being an uncle to his many nieces and nephews, and they all agree
that he was a wonderful uncle. His greatest joy in life was spending time
with his family and watching his grandchildren at their many sporting
events. He loved to golf, travel, and have fun with his many faithful
friends.

He was a proud 1967 graduate of Belle Center High School, where he
excelled  playing football for his beloved Belle Center Eagles. He was
employed at Northwood Stone and Asphalt/Shelley Company for 51 loyal
years. He was an active member of Belle Center United Methodist Church. A
veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He was a
member of the Kenton Elks Lodge #157, the Kenton Moose Family Center #428,
and he was a Hardin County Shriner.

Although well known for his size, he was most loved for his generous
spirit, and kind heart. He’ll be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough
to have him in their lives.

Funeral Services for Charles "Ox" Carson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Tuesday March 13, 2018 at the Belle Center United Methodist Church with
Pastor Kevin Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Belle Center
Fairview Cemetery where full military rites will be held by the Kenton
AMVETS Post 1994 Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 -
8:00 p.m. on Monday March 12, 2018 at the Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral
Home, Kenton and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the
church.

Eva Kathryn Yankee

Nearly six hours after coming into the world, Eva Kathryn Yankee passed
away peacefully in her parents' arms at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in
Findlay, OH.  Although her earthly life was short, she touched many lives
and was loved by all who met her.

Eva Kathryn Yankee was born Monday March 5, 2018 at 10:33 a.m. and
received her angel wings sailing into eternity that afternoon at 4:15 p.m.
 She is the daughter of David and Kathryn "Katie" Yankee of Kenton.

She is survived by her sister Harper Yankee at home, paternal grandparents
Mike Yankee of Kenton and Karen Yankee of Kenton; maternal grandparents
Kevin (Amy) Park of Bryan, OH and Kathy Park of Bryan, OH; and her
maternal great grandmother Dorothy Park of Chillicothe, OH.

Eva's legacy will continue to live on as she was able to donate 6 of her
organs for research with the hope to find cures for things such as
childhood cancer, diabetes, and other life-limiting diagnoses.

The family will hold a private Memorial Service for Eva Kathryn at the
Kenton Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dave Dooley officiating the
service. She will be laid to rest in the Salem Cemetery, rural Kenton.
Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home, Kenton is assisting the family with
arrangements.

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Keckler

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Keckler, 65, of rural Mt. Victory passed away at 2:35
a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her residence.  She was born on July 15,
1952 in Kenton to Donald E. and Carol Ann(Hamilton) Elsasser, her father
is deceased.  She married Danny E. Keckler on Jan. 9, 1971 and he
survives.  Also surviving are her mother in Kenton;  a son, Chad (Amy)
Keckler of Mt. Victory; two grandchildren, Samantha and Eric Keckler; a
brother, Jerry (Kathy) Elsasser and a sister, Laura (Shane) Rogers, both
of Kenton.  Peggy was a 1970 graduate of Kenton High School and retired
from Kroger in 2017 following 20 years in customer service.  She enjoyed
vacationing with her classmates and friends over the years.  Funeral
services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at
SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Scott Johnson
officiating.  Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be

David C. Deever

David C. Deever, 71, of Kenton, died peacefully on March 4, 2018.  He was
born on October 15, 1946, in Ashland, to Harold and Estelle (Hoover)
Deever.  He was married on December 23, 1968 to Marilyn Zehner at Trinity
Lutheran Church, Ashland.

Dave was a 1964 graduate of Ashland High School and a 1968 graduate of
Ohio University.

He served six years in the 906th Army Reserve Unit, Mansfield, Ohio.

In 1969, he began his career in Ada with State Farm Insurance Co. and
moved to Kenton to establish a new agency serving Hardin County for 47
years until his retirement in May 2017.  In 1995, Dave completed his
Chartered Life Underwriter accreditation from American College in Bryn
Mawr, PA.  He served as a Director beginning in 1999 and was Chairman of
the Board for Home Savings and Loan, Co., Kenton from 2012-2017.  He
attended the Kenton First United Methodist Church.

Dave loved the game of golf all his life and played varsity golf in high
school and college.  His high school golf team won the Ohio High School
State Golf Championship in 1962 and has the distinction of being the first
Ashland High School sports team to win a state championship.   He was a
longtime member of The Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton.

Dave was member of the Kenton Elks Lodge No. 157.   He served in various
leadership positions including Moderator and Representative in the
Northwest Ohio Association and the Ohio Conference of the United Church of
Christ.  He was a former member of the Kenton Lions Club and coached Little
League baseball. 

He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, two sons David Christopher
(Joan) Deever, Westerville, and Benjamin Britton (Courtney Williams)
Deever, Upper Arlington, and grandchildren Alyssa and Angela Deever and
Lucas Williams.  In addition, he is survived by two sisters Gloria Scott,
Wooster, and Judy Echelberger of Ashland, his mother-in-law Bernice
Zehner, Ashland, brother-in-law Peter (Penny) Zehner, Mansfield, and
several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents
Harold "Hank" L. and Estelle Deever.

Services for David C. Deever will be at 10:30 AM Friday March 9, 2018 at
the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home in Kenton by The Reverend David
Plant of Defiance.  Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery, Ashland on a later
date.

Carol A DeLong

Carol A. DeLong age 77 or as she would tell you "34 and looking good" of
Belle Center, Ohio passed away at 8:23 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2018 at the
Lima Memorial Hospital.  She was born July 28, 1940 in Hardin County the
daughter of the late Jesse and Edna (VanSky) Vermillion.  On May 26, 1957
Carol married Clyde Allen DeLong and he passed away on February 6, 2016.

Carol is survived by her sons Ricky (Susan) DeLong of St. Paris, OH, Jack
(Terrie) DeLong of West Mansfield, OH, Gregory DeLong of Zanesfield, OH,
and David (Melissa) DeLong of Belle Center, OH; grandchildren Angela
(Jason) Chism, Danyelle (Dustin) Proffit, Alicia DeLong, Kacy (Tom) Moore,
Keith Buchanan, Cole DeLong, Steffen (Shelby) DeLong, Dillion (Sara)
DeLong, Chad (Brandi) DeLong, Shenay (Jake) DeLong, Madison DeLong, Mason
DeLong, Mia DeLong, Myles DeLong, Maryah (Braden) DeLong, Trevor (Kendra)
DeLong, and Kelsie (Phillip)DeLong; 22 gt. grandchildren; brother Raymond
(Connie) Vermillion of Waynesfield, OH; and sisters Wanda Hamilton of
Kenton, and Donna DeLong of Kenton.  She is preceded in death by her
grandchildren Kristen Buchanan and Kwen Buchanan, 6 brothers, and 3
sisters. 

She was retired from Imperial Bondware in Kenton.  Carol was a member of
the Belle Center Church of Christ.

Stanley G. Spath

Stanley G. Spath age 91 of Forest died Fri. March 2, 2018 at his residence.  He was born October 21, 1926 in Huntington, IN to the late Russell and Bessie (Purdue) Spath.  He married Lillian L. Wilson on November 13, 1948, and she died Feb. 16, 2002.

 

He is survived by a son Rodney Spath, Forest, 3 daughters Carol (Don) Stephan, Wharton, Diane (Robert) Forney, Forest, Pamela Spath Gaertner, Sandusky, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers Donald (Barbara) Spath, Huntsville, and Ronald (Myrna) Spath, Mansfield.  Mr. Spath was preceded in death by a grandson Alan “A.T.” Stephan, and a brother Gerald Spath.

 

Mr. Spath was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.   He retired in 1990 as a welder from McBrown Industries in Rawson.  After retirement, he worked with Shields Funeral Home until 2004.  He was a member of The United States Landing Ship Tank Association, McVitty VFW Post #1182 in Forest, and the former Senate Lodge #378 F & AM in Forest.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ernest and Ola Mae Lee.
 
Ellen had worked at Kroger and before was a nurse's aid .
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed listening to Elvis, and watching the Minnesota Vikings.

Marjorie Jane (Gantt) Daum

Marjorie Jane (Gantt) Daum, 86, of Kenton, went to be with the Lord at 9:30
a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.  She was
born on July 19, 1931, in La Rue, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Nellie
(Columber) Gantt.  On December 29, 1948, she married Bud Daum, Jr. in
Greenup, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2009.
 
Marjorie was a 1950 graduate of Larue High School.  She was a homemaker
and had also worked at Woolworth's and Kenton Tool and Die. 

She is survived by her son, Larry (Lou) Daum of Marysville; her
grandchildren: Gary (Robin) Henderson, Jason Daum, Lucas (Casey) Daum and
Laura Daum; her great-grandchildren: Taylor Daum, Grant Daum, Cora Daum,
Micah Daum and Henry Daum; her brother, Paul Gantt of Caledonia; and a
very special niece, Connie (Frank) Beidelschies. 

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Randie Lee
Eibling; her sisters: Virginia Brocklesby, Lucille Parish and Janet
Cooper. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday , March 5, 2018 in
Grove Cemetery, Kenton.

Jessica Rachel (Lyskawa) Beckner age 45 of Columbus, OH passed away at
11:16 p.m. on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at the OSU James Cancer Hospital
in Columbus.  She was born November 29, 1972 in Dearborn, MI the daughter
of Lawrence "Larry" and Ayris (Ries) Lyskawa.

She is survived by her mother Ayris (Milton) Price of Columbus, OH; father
Lawrence "Larry" Lyskawa of Forest, OH; sister Elizabeth (Rob) Oberlander
of Nevada, OH; nephew Andrew Horner (special friend Caley Dorsey) of
Denver, CO ; niece Lydia Horner (Fiance' Chad Shark) of Kenton; and her
Fiance' Kevin Fricke of Columbus, OH.

Jessica was a graduate of the Kenton High School class of 1991.  She
received 2 Associate Degrees from Columbus State Community College, one in
Architectural Technology and another in Construction Management.  Jessica
worked as a Project Manager and Permit Coordinator utilizing her education
and training obtained from Columbus State.

Her passions in life were art, architecture, and animals.  She would visit
architectural works of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Funeral services for Jessica Beckner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday,
March 5, 2018 at the Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home.  Burial will

Surviving are 2 sons, Mark (Fran) Bailey of Dayton and Matt (Susan) Bailey of Kenton; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Baldwin, Claire Bailey, Michael (Michelle) O'Neil, Daniel (Jennifer)O'Neil, and Erin (Michael) Coughlin; and 9 great grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Evan, and Conner O'Neil, Bailey, Nicholas, Alexandra, Wesley, and Michael Coughlin.
He was preceded in death by a sister Alice M. Bailey.
 
Harry owned and operated Bailey Insurance.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Shriners and Kenton Elks Lodge was he was a past Exalted Ruler.
He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
Harry was an avid golfer, loyal member of the Elks, supporter of Kenton Athletics, and enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

David D. (Hillman) Roberts Sr.

David D. "Hillman" Roberts, Sr., 65, of Kenton, passed away at 8:34 a.m.,
Saturday, February 24, 2018, at his residence. 

 

He was born on November 2,
1952, in Morehead, KY to Weldon and Betty (Myers) Roberts.  He married
Jackie (Fatzinger) Gallegos on May 31, 1997, and she survives. 
David is also survived by his father, Weldon Roberts of Cooksville, TN;
his mother, Betty Lucas of Lexington, KY; his sons: Jeremy (Jawna Ferrell)
Roberts of Forest, David Roberts, Jr. of Alger, Jesse (Amanda) Gallegos of
Marion; a daughter, Brandy (Ryan) Cox of Upper Sandusky; his brother,
Darrell (Laura) Roberts of Sadieville, KY; his sisters: Leslie Parrish and
Lisa (Carlton) Switzer, both of Lexington, KY; 14 grandchildren and 1
great-grandchild. 

 

He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Gallegos and his brother, Von
Myers. 

 

David was the owner of Hillman Construction, and was a longtime contractor
for Golden Giant.  He was a member of the NHRA, Fraternal Order of Eagles
#2163, Moose Lodge #428.  David was an avid racing fan. 
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday,
February 28, 2018, at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton. 
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at
SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
Burial will be private. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverdale High School Wrestling
program and/or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
