Motorcycle safety was the subject of the one of the Ohio State Patrol’s 100 Days of Summer Safety Campaign.
The patrol said riders should wear all proper safety equipment, including a helmet.
The helmet should meet the Department of Transportation Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, certified helmets will have a D.O.T. symbol on the back of the helmet. It should weigh around three pounds, have a thick lining and sturdy chin straps.
Motorists are also advised to be on the lookout for motorcycles.
