Kroger customers confirmed their support for members of America’s military by contributing a record $109,842 to benefit the USO during The Kroger Company Columbus Division’s annual Honoring Our Heroes campaign.
Amy McCormick, Kroger corporate affairs manager, will present a check to United Service Organizations (USO) representatives at the Marysville Kroger Marketplace on Friday, July 14 at 11:30 a.m.
According to McCormick, 100 percent of funds raised will benefit the USO of Central and Southern Ohio. The Columbus Division’s Honoring Our Heroes campaign began May 21 and continued through June 3, with funds collected through scan card purchases at Kroger’s Columbus Division store registers.
Customers were invited to write the names of their military heroes on their cards to show support for a military branch by placing it on Kroger’s special USO sign.
