A Marion man was indicted on a charge of bank robbery.

According to information on the Marion Police Department's Facebook page, the Union Bank on Richland Road in Marion was robbed on August 17.

Several tips were received and following an investigation, 40 year old Todd P. Smith was arrested two days later.

Late last week, the grand jury indicted Smith on one count each of aggravated robbery and possession of cocaine.

Since it is unknown if Smith acted alone, the investigation into the bank robbery continues.
