One person was killed in a two vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Allen County.

According to a release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Patrol, 29 year old William J. Samp, of Wisconsin, was a passenger in a car that was struck by a bus at the intersection of State Route 81 and Thayer Road. Samp died of his injuries at the scene.

The car was being driven by 25 year old Lance J. Ward, of Wisconsin, who was westbound on Thayer and failed to yield to the bus, which was travelling east on 81 and being operated by 56 year old Elizabeth Flowers, of Lima.

Ward and two other passengers in his car were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital. Flowers was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center. Five passengers on her transport bus were not injured.

Drug use is suspected as being a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation.
