The Findlay Police Department has seen an increase in theft complaints where items are being stolen from parked vehicles.

According to the department's Facebook page, in most of these cases, the vehicles are left unlocked with items in plain view. Stolen items range from loose change to firearms.

The police department advises residents that after parking your vehicle, take a moment to secure your items before leaving and make sure to lock your doors. This will cut down on the chances of becoming a victim. Rarely are windows broken unless the items are in plain view.

You should also keep an eye out for your neighbors and report suspicious activity when you see it. This could include someone moving car to car and looking in the windows.
