The Bellefontaine Police Department kicked off its 5th Youth Academy Class this past weekend.

High School juniors and seniors signed up and spent one, full day of learning more about policing.

20 of them arrived at 7:30 Saturday morning and finished their day by 5:30.

They received an overview of the police department, toured the facility, learned about the history of policing, K9 presentation, investigations/crime scene presentation, 911 dispatching, and more.

With nearly 50 attendees, this year's academy class was separated into two separate classes. The next class will meet this Saturday March 10.
