Representative Jim Jordan is denying he was aware of any sexual abuse allegations during his years as a coach for the Ohio State University wrestling team.

Dr. Richard Strauss, who died in 2005, is accused of sexually abusing team members from the mid 1970’s to the late 1990’s.

Jordan was an assistant wrestling coach from 1987 until 1995.

Team members have said the inappropriate contact by Strauss was well known, and that it would have been impossible for Jordan not to know.

Jordan, who once represented Hardin County in the U.S. House before restructuring, issued a statement saying he never saw, heard about or had any abuse allegations reported to him during his time as coach. He added that he stands ready to cooperate with investigators because, if true, the victims deserve a full investigation and justice.
