Upcoming ODOT work this week

Week of Oct. 16, 2017

The following is highway construction scheduled to occur within Wyandot County.

Pavement repair will take place at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage:

  • State Route 231 between the village of Sycamore and the Seneca County line
  • State Route 67 from the Hardin County line to just south of Upper Sandusky

State Route 231 between county Highway 43 and county Highway 44, north of Nevada, is now open following culvert replacement.

U.S. 23 rest areas, both northbound and southbound, north of Upper Sandusky, closed Sept. 18 for approximately three months during a remodel project. No access to the park grounds will be permitted during the closure.

U.S. 23 and state Route 15 near their interchange with state Route 103, south of Carey, are reduced to one lane in each direction for work related to the removal of two bridge structures over abandoned railroads. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction Inc., Archbold. The following are traffic impacts related to the project:

  • In the coming week, northbound traffic on U.S. 23/state Route 15 will be switched back to the east side of the highway.
  • One lane of traffic in both the northbound and southbound direction will be maintained through the work zone during paving operations that will begin during the week and continue for approximately three weeks. The ramps at state Route 103 will also be resurfaced with traffic maintained.
  • The exit ramp from U.S. 23 northbound/state Route 15 westbound to continue onto U.S. 23 closed Aug. 25 for two months. The ramp is expected to reopen early in the week. Traffic detoured onto state Route 15 west, county Road 330 to state Route 15 east back to state Route 103. (see map)

State Route 53 between state Route 103 and county Road 2, McCutchenville, closed April 24 for approximately six months for bridge replacements over Thorn Run and Tymochtee Creek. The route is expected to reopen to traffic within the week. Traffic detoured onto state Route 103, state Route 231 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 53. Work is being performed by R & I Construction, Tiffin. (see map
