Robert J. Wagner, 63, of Kenton, passed away at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born on August 23, 1954, in Upper Sandusky to the late Wayne and Florence (Wentz) Wagner. He married Janice (Preventowski) on July 16, 1994, and she survives. Robert is also survived by his sons: Brent (Heather) Richards of Sand Creek, MI and Blane (Tasha Johnson) Richards of Fayette, OH; his grandchildren: Lane Richards and Ashley James; his great-granddaughter, Raegen James; his twin sister, Barbara (Dan) McClain of Sycamore. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Beverly Jane Montgomery and Brenda Diane Wagner. Robert retired from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office in 2011 as a Sergeant after 29 years, where was a Deputy Sheriff and Detective. Upon his retirement he served on the Hardin County Sheriff’s Auxiliary and was a member of the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association. He was also a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey, Ohio, and the Knights of Columbus. Robert and his wife enjoyed traveling during their retirement. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2018, at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 315 Clay Street, Carey, Ohio. Father Vincent Petersen Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Friday at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church.
