Two people were killed in a crash that occurred Sunday night on State Route 117 south of Holden.


According to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, a southbound car went left of center and collided with a northbound pickup truck.


Both occupants of the car, identified as 33 year old Marcus Daniel Croy, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and 29 year old Michelle Hakey, of Columbia City, Indiana, were pronounced dead at the scene.


The driver of the pickup, identified as Sonia McNamara and two children, ages 5 and 9 months, were all transported by helicopter to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries.


A dog in McNamara's pickup was killed and another dog was placed in the care of the Hardin County Dog Warden.


Units from Roundhead Fire and EMS, Alger EMS, Belle Center Fire and EMS along with Life Flight and Care Flight medical helicopters; the Multi County Crash Investigation Team, Hardin County Volunteers In Police Service, Hardin County Dog Warden, Hardin County Coroner and Osborn’s Towing and Recovery assisted the sheriff's office at the scene.
