Tuesday may have been April Fool’s Day, but it was no joke for a long serving Hardin County elected official.

Brenda Rainsburg celebrated her 40th anniversary on Tuesday as Hardin County Recorder.

Reflecting on that time, she noted that a lot has changed over those years especially in technology and employees.

With 40 years down, she has no plans to call it a career anytime soon, “I’m here for as long as the county will have me. 40 years has gone very fast.”

Rainsburg shares the secret as to why she has thrived in the position for 40 years and counting, “I love my job. I love the people. I never, ever thought I would be in the position that I’m in, and I love it. It’s a dream come true.”

Rainsburg welcomed all who stopped in the Recorders’ Office and offered them lunch and piece of cake made and decorated by 9-year-old Claire McCullough.
