The official total given to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office for holiday charities last year came to $2,368.
The money was raised through private donations, a contribution from the Rhodes State College Police Academy along with a massively-successful No Shave November 2020 campaign.
For the third consecutive year, Ronald McDonald House Charities received $200 of these funds.
This amount was also given to Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio, as selected by the beard contest winners.
The remainder of the money was used to provide Christmas gifts for two local families, including a five-person family “adopted” through Allen County Children’s Services.
