The Ada and Hardin Northern Elementary schools’ Souper Bowl was held last week.

In partnership with the United Way of Hardin County,  Ada and Hardin Northern elementary students brought in canned goods for four of the county’s outreach programs.

The event was a super success with the students bringing in 2,228 items.

Beatitudes of Ada, Helping Hands, The Neighborhood Opportunity Center and the New Hope Ministries Homeless Shelter in Kenton will receive the items.

The Ada class with the most donations was Mrs. Wiseman’s kindergarten class with 275 cans; in second place was Mrs. Burnett’s class with 124.

Hardin Northern’s winning class was Mrs. Monday’s bringing in over 800 cans.

The first-place class at both elementary schools will receive a pizza party.
