Alger council members voted to take legal action against a homeowner in the village that refuses to clean up their property.

Councilman Mike Miller said the property in question is a mobile home on West Belmont Street in the village.

Mayor Von Summa said that the homeowners have been written up numerous times, with the most recent notice coming in June of this year.

Miller said despite all of the attempts to get the homeowners to comply, nothing gets done and the property has been an eyesore for years.

The problems on the property, according to the council, are two to three junk vehicles that need to be moved, open bags of trash at the front porch and high weeds.

After a brief discussion, all council members voted to take the homeowners to court in an attempt to get them to comply with orders to clean-up the property.
