The Area Agency on Aging 3, in commemoration of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week through April 13 is hoping to raise awareness about crime victims’ issues and rights and introduce the public to the important resources and services available.
According to a recent survey, U.S. residents age 12 or older experienced 3.1 million violent crimes and U.S. households experienced an estimated 13.3 million property crimes in 2017.
The National Crime Victims’ Right Week helps bring the message to the forefront and get information out utilizing social media, the internet, the media, and other forms of communication.
The Area Agency on Aging 3 encourages widespread participation in the week’s events and in other victim-related observances throughout the year.
