Medicare recipients are warned of calls claiming to pertain to the replacement of their cards.
Adrienne Shelton at WLIO reports the caller will ask for the information on the old card, which they say will be transferred over.
Better Business Bureau West Central Ohio branch president Cheryl Parson says that the real Medicare is not replacing cards, and wouldn’t need recipients to state information which they could access immediately.
Residents are advised not to give out any personal information over the phone, and to inform the Better Business Bureau of any potential scam by calling (419) 223-7010.
