Due to the current lack of volunteers, BKP is covering more and more calls from outside the area.

Chad Smith, from BKP, told Hardin County Commissioners at a recent meeting that BKP covers six townships and shares the City of Kenton.

Another truck has been purchased to help assist with the increased number of calls.

Smith inquired about the possibility of using money from the American Rescue Plan to help stock the truck.

The needed items total just under $80,000.

Commissioner Tim Striker noted that if townships receive the funds, BKP could also ask them.

Striker said the villages can also apply.

He added that county projects will be covered first with funds earmarked by December 2024 and spent by December 2026.
