What started as a search for missing person search turned tragic yesterday.


According to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a call at 3:06pm reporting a missing 13 year old male in the vicinity of Township Road 55 near Ada, OH.


Numerous law enforcement officials, firefighter, emergency medical personnel, Ohio Highway patrol, LifeFlight helicopters, the Hardin county Joint Dive Team along with friends, family, neighbors and community members joined in the search.


The release goes on to say that at around 7:00 pm divers recovered the body of the boy around 20 feet from the shore in a pond near the boy's home.


Assisting the Hardin county Sheriff’s Office included the Ada-Liberty Fire Department and EMS, Hancock, Allen, and Delaware County Sheriffs’ Offices, Ada, Kenton, and Findlay Police Departments, Ohio Highway Patrol Aviation and LifeFlight, Hardin County Joint Dive Team, Hardin County Coroner’s Office, and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Volunteers in Police Service.
