The Bellefontaine Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy kicked off year ten last week.

Chief Brandon Standley presented the history of policing, the structure and goals of the Bellefontaine Police Department, and then the class took a guided tour of the police department.

Students in the class are residents, business owners, and community members of Bellefontaine.

They will continue to meet on Thursday nights for the next ten weeks.

The class will learn about different functions of the police department.

They will have presentations on crime scenes, drug investigations, criminal law, firearm safety, self defense, and much more.
