BPD Launches New Drug Enforcement Unit

The Bellefontaine Police Department launched a new unit focused solely on targeting illegal drug trafficking, drug activity, and violent crime within the City of Bellefontaine.

The unit, which was launched in late 2020, is comprised of multiple police department investigators and the city’s K9 unit which will focus mainly on drug investigations from citizen complaints and traffic stops made by the unit.

Bellefontaine citizens are encouraged to contact the Bellefontaine Police Department and share any information they have regarding illicit drug activity.  

Some investigations can take weeks and some can take months, but they assure residents that every complaint is investigated to the fullest. 

The new unit has already successfully investigated over four dozen separate situations.
