While Kenton High School’s wrestling team failed to win any of their dual meets at Allen East over the weekend, 170-pound senior Carter Bays added five victories to his resume, scoring two pins, two decisions, and one forfeit.
Bays’ decisions came against Allen East’s Gage Wireman and Grant Young of Van Buren. His win over Fremont Ross came via forfeit, and matches against Mikey Brzeczek of Woodmore and Justin Flanders of Columbus Grove ended in pin fall victories for Bays.
Among Bays’ teammates, Aaron Modd and Logan Brown went 4-1 with two pins, Kade Smith, Josh Hart, and Anthony Hunt each went 3-2, and Connor Dye earned four forfeits.
In team competition, Kenton lost to host Allen East 21-51, Fremont Ross 30-42, Woodmore 27-48, Columbus Grove 27-48, and Van Buren 33-39.
Kenton High School wrestling resume their schedule Thursday, hosting St. Mary’s.
