Filing Deadline for Independent Candidates is May 2

The filing deadline for nominating petitions for independent candidates for the November 8 Election has been set. Candidates have until Monday May 2 to file in order to be eligible for the November 8 Election.   The petitions must be filed at the Hardin County Board of Elections by 4pm on May 2. The Board of Elections Office is located in the basement of the Hardin County Courthouse in downtown Kenton.

Board of Elections Meeting May 3

The Hardin County Board of Elections will meet Tuesday, May 3 at 6:30 a.m. in their office in the courthouse for election day.   In addition, the board will conduct their regular meeting, review the auditor’s report, approve the minutes of the April 14 meeting and approve bills.   This meeting will replace the May 12 regular meeting.

Stolen Vehicle Investigation Leads to Arrest of Kenton Man

A Kenton man was arrested in connection to a stolen vehicle incident Monday afternoon. According to the Kenton Police Department report, a vehicle was reported stolen just before 2:30 Monday afternoon. Officers recovered the vehicle and arrested 50 year old Ray Cline Junior.  He is being held in the Multi County Jail in Marion on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drugs.

State Awards Funding to Aid in Removing Former Allen County Home

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine awarded more than $60 million in funding to help local communities clean up dozens of contaminated properties to make way for future economic development.   As part of the new Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program, the Ohio Department of Development is providing funding for 78 projects, including approximately $54.8 million for 37 clean-up projects and $5.5 million for 41 assessment projects.  These projects will impact communities in 35 […]
