OSU Extension Recruiting Youth and Adult Home Gardeners

Youth and adult home gardeners are being recruited to become citizen scientists for OSU Extension 2024 Home Garden Trials. Participants will grow a minimum of two varieties of pre-selected vegetables during the 2024 growing season and provide feedback on the growing process – such as germination, disease susceptibility, yield, and flavor. ODNR Stocks Fish in Ohio Waters Including Indian Lake

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife stocked nearly 41 million fish of 11 species in Ohio waters in 2023.  Of them, 3,166,940 were saugeye fry, which are less than an inch long, and 537,680 saugeye fingerlings, which are 1 to 2 inches, were stocked at Indian Lake. Safe Sitter Course Offered at Hardin Northern

A Safe Sitter course is being offered for 5th through 8th grade students at Hardin Northern. The course will take place at the school from 3:30-5:30 PM on February 14th & 21st, and attendance is required at both sessions.  It is designed to prepare students to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. Free Eclipse Glasses for Attending Eclipse Programs at MLJ Library

The Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library is giving a free pair of solar eclipse glasses to those attending any Eclipse Program from March to April. They have a limited supply of free glasses. Hardin County is in a line of totality for the Solar Eclipse on April 8. Ben Logan Students Invited to FAFSA Open House

An Open House is being offered for Benjamin Logan and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center students who need help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The help night will take place on January 30 from 5 until 7:30pm at the Career Center in Bellefontaine. Financial Aid representatives from local colleges will be on site to help from start to finish.
