Extensive damage was reported as a result of a fire in downtown Upper Sandusky Thursday afternoon.
According to information from the Upper Sandusky Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the 100 block of North Sandusky Avenue at around 1:50 in the afternoon.
The blaze started in an apartment above Shotzy’s Bar and Grill and quickly spread from there.
The fire caused extensive damage to the upper floors of the surrounding buildings.
Heavy smoke and water damage occurred in the lower floors.
Mutual assistance was provided by fire departments from Carey, Wyandot East, Sycamore, Pitt Township and Wharton.
Wyandot EMS was on the scene as well.
Firefighters were on the scene for several hours.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and it remains under investigation.
On its Facebook page, the Upper Sandusky Fire Department thanked all of the businesses and individuals who assisted firefighters at the scene.
