This week, I visited a salon that definitely met the meaning of its name, No Limits.
While the salon was opened 28 years ago by owner Doris Delong, she says it is now run by her two daughters, Kim and Becky. The minute I walked in, I was greeted with great smiles and great personalities. Kim immediately asked how I could be helped, and I explained how I had chosen No Limits as this week’s Community Spotlight, and the interview began.
We were joined by employee Elizabeth, whose aunt used to work at the salon. This sparked her interest in cosmetology. Now, Elizabeth has been working at the salon for 15 years, and describes her first day as “stressful.” But she returned and has been a loyal employee ever since. I asked her where she’d like to see No Limits in 5 years, and she replied “Still thriving.”
No Limits was named by Kim (who?) and was inspired by a perm box that said “Outer Limits.” Kim immediately knew that would be the salon’s name. She told me she’d like the public to know that they’re always welcoming new clients. Prices are as follows: Hair cuts starting at $15, root touch–ups starting at $30, highlights starting at $45, and two-color dye starting at $65. No Limits boasts four unique hair stylists and a skilled nail technician, who offers manicures and pedicures at competing prices. In addition, there are two tanning beds.
I’d like to add that Kim and Elizabeth continued working on their clients’ hair while answering my questions; both of them left happy. Kim and Elizabeth both agreed the most important thing about No Limits is the customer’s satisfaction. Each employee strives to meet the customer’s standards. In my opinion, this is something that is definitely hard to come by in the world of business. The employees are what I would consider the strength of the salon.
The salon would like to see more tanning customers, and just more clients, in general. If you would like to make an appointment, call No Limits at 419-675-0717 to schedule. If you’d rather stop in to see the salon and the smiling faces, the shop is located at 214 N. Detroit Street Kenton, Ohio, 43326.
