Crash in Roundhead Township Monday Morning Claims the Life of Columbus Man

A Columbus man was killed in a two vehicle crash that occurred Monday morning in Roundhead Township.

According to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 16,000 block of State Route 117 where they found a 2007 Honda and 2018 Ford van that were involved in the crash. 

The Multi County Crash Team was called to assist at the scene.  

During the investigation, it was determined that the Honda was traveling northwest on 117 and the Ford van was traveling southeast.   

The Honda went left of center and struck the Ford head on.   

The driver of the Honda, a 25 year old male from Columbus, was pronounced deceased on the scene.  

The driver of the Ford was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, by Upper Scioto Valley EMS.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Roundhead Fire, ODOT, Route 31 Towing, Hardin County Coroner’s Office, and Osborn’s Towing. 

No names have been released at this time.
