The first day for a traffic study at the intersection of Detroit and Ohio Streets in Kenton has not gone well.
An accident this (Monday) afternoon that occurred at the intersection involved Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart.
The Sheriff was driving north on Detroit when a car pulled into the intersection from the red blinking lights on Ohio.
The Sheriff said despite his best efforts, he could not avoid a collision.
Disabling damage occurred to the car on Ohio Street. The driver’s name has not been released.
The Sheriff and the other driver were not injured.
ODOT began a traffic light study on July 29 for removal of the lights at that intersection and the traffic lights at the Detroit Street and Carrol Street intersection.
At this time, lights on Detroit are blinking yellow, while the lights on Ohio and Carrol Streets are blinking red.
