Cridersville Man Arrested After Pursuit in Auglaize County

A Cridersville man was arrested after an incident Wednesday in Auglaize County.

According to a release, during a domestic violence incident, a suspect identified as James Wilcox allegedly threatened the life of a family member by using a firearm.

Officers from the Wapakoneta Police Department located Wilcox and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect fled and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit crossed several county roads but eventually re-entered Wapakoneta and ended at Pearl and Willipie Streets.

The 25 year old Wilcox was arrested and transported to the Auglaize County Correctional Center on charges of fleeing and eluding, tampering with evidence and aggravated menacing.

During the pursuit, vehicles from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office were damaged, but were able to be driven from the scene. 

Assisting with the incident were the Cridersville Police Department, Wapakoneta Police Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Grand Lake Task Force.

The incident remains under investigation.
