Driver Charged with Second OVI Offense Following Incident in Wyandot County

A driver was arrested after his vehicle struck a mailbox in Wyandot County Monday.

 

According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, a resident in the 6000 block of County Highway 65 told deputies a maroon car with two males inside ran over her mailbox then turned around in her neighbor’s driveway and headed back toward U.S. 23.

 

The car was damaged when it hit the mailbox and was leaking oil.

 

A deputy located a maroon Buick with oil pan damage disabled on County Highway 65 just west of U.S. 23.

 

The driver, identified as Jakob Swango, of Marengo, Ohio, was arrested for driving under an OVI suspension and failure to control.

 

He also was charged with a second offense for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a breath test was administered.
